Mission & Vision

Mission

The mission of ISAN is to promote the exchange of knowledge and coordination in any field related to aquaculture nutrition, in particular fish and shellfish nutrition. Nutrition in this sense comprehends activities on research, diet formulation, feed production, feeding/feed management, ingredient development/application and nutritional physiology, including nutritional diseases and disorders of fish and crustaceans. ISAN also promotes training, capacity building, and dissemination of knowledge in these areas.

Specific Objectives

  • To organize the International Symposium on Fish Nutrition and Feeding (ISFNF) every two years.
  • To initiate collaboration projects among scientists in aquaculture nutrition.
  • To promote the scientific discipline of aquaculture nutrition.
  • To recommend best practices to conduct fish nutrition research.
  • To enable support and education of early-career researchers and students in the discipline of aquaculture nutrition.
