ISFNF Objectives
The International Symposium on Fish Nutrition and Feeding (ISFNF) is an independent, biennial international scientific forum and the flagship event of the International Society of Aquaculture Nutrition (ISAN), dedicated to advancing fundamental and applied research in fish and crustacean nutrition while fostering constructive dialogue with industry and other stakeholders.
The objectives of ISFNF are to:
- Advance fundamental and applied knowledge in aquatic animal nutrition through the presentation and critical discussion of high-quality, original research.
- Identify emerging challenges and critical knowledge gaps in nutrition, feeding strategies, ingredient development, nutritional physiology, and nutrition-related disorders.
- Promote methodological rigor and harmonization in experimental design, analytical approaches, and reporting standards, supporting evidence-based innovation.
- Foster interdisciplinary and international collaboration among scientists, industry, government, and other stakeholders.
- Support sustainable aquaculture development by addressing feed efficiency, ingredient innovation, animal health, environmental performance, and food safety.
- Support early-career researchers and students through training opportunities, scientific feedback, and visibility.
- Ensure scientific continuity, global reach, and long-term impact through biennial symposia and dissemination of outcomes via peer-reviewed publications.
ISFNF provides a neutral and credible platform for shaping research priorities, supporting responsible innovation, and contributing to the sustainable growth of the global aquaculture sector.
